- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1 tbsp granulated sugar
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
- 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tsp dried parsley
For the Garlic Butter Topping:
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp dried parsley
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, garlic powder, salt, and cayenne pepper (if using).
- Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until evenly distributed.
- Add the milk and melted butter to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
- Drop the dough by heaping tablespoonfuls onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown and cooked through.
- While the biscuits are baking, prepare the garlic butter topping by mixing the melted butter, garlic powder, and dried parsley in a small bowl.
- Brush the hot biscuits with the garlic butter topping as soon as they come out of the oven. Serve warm.
Notes
- For extra cheesy biscuits, add an additional 1/2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese.
