Description

Cucumber Onion Salad is a crisp, refreshing salad perfect for summer days. It combines the coolness of cucumbers with the sharp bite of red onions, all tossed in a tangy vinegar dressing. This salad is an excellent side dish for picnics and barbecues.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large cucumbers, thinly sliced
  • 1 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup white vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh dill, chopped (optional for garnish)

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, combine the thinly sliced cucumbers and red onions.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the white vinegar, olive oil, sugar, salt, and pepper until the sugar is dissolved.
  • Pour the dressing over the cucumber and onion slices, tossing to ensure everything is evenly coated.
  • Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow flavors to meld.
  • Garnish with fresh dill just before serving.

Notes

  • For a sweeter salad, increase the sugar to taste.
  • Apple cider vinegar can be used instead of white vinegar for a milder flavor.
