Ingredients
- 20 large white mushrooms
- 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
1. Set the oven temperature to 190Β°C, or 375Β°F.
2. Trim the stems off the mushrooms and clean them. Chop the stems finely and reserve.
3. In a pan over medium heat, warm the olive oil. Add the chopped garlic and onion, and cook until aromatic and tender.
4. Cook the chopped mushroom stems in the skillet for a further three to four minutes.
5. Take the skillet off of the burner and let it to cool somewhat.
6. Combine the sautΓ©ed mushroom mixture, cream cheese, Parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, and parsley in a mixing dish. Add pepper and salt for seasoning.
7. Using a spoon, carefully pack a little quantity of filling into each mushroom cap.
8. Place the stuffed mushrooms on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper.
9. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the tops of the mushrooms are golden brown and the mushrooms are soft.
10. Warm up and savor!
Notes
- For a gluten-free version, substitute regular breadcrumbs with gluten-free breadcrumbs.
- Add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the filling for a spicy kick.
- You may prepare these mushrooms in advance and bake them just before serving.
